This Is Fun: Playing With AI Image Creation
There’s a lot of serious talk around AI.
Benchmarks. Models. Predictions. The future of everything.
Today’s episode of AI for Everyone goes in the opposite direction.
It starts with a simple question:
What’s the most fun you can have with AI image creation in about ten seconds?
That’s it. No lesson plan. No agenda. Just curiosity.
Why This Episode Exists
This season, I’m changing how I approach the show.
Instead of teaching AI, I’m playing with it in public.
Not because teaching is bad.
But because play is honest.
When something surprises me, makes me laugh, or genuinely delights me, that reaction is real. And that’s what I want this show to capture.
Episode 3 is a perfect example of that shift.
Enter: Grok Imagine
In this episode, I jump into Imagine, the image and video creation tool from Grok (xAI), and just… see what happens.
No complex prompts.
No technical setup.
No “here’s what you should do.”
I upload a photo.
I type a silly idea.
I turn images into videos.
I animate a doodle that honestly should never have seen the light of day.
And within seconds, something unexpected happens.
That’s the magic here.
From Photos to Videos in Seconds
One of the most surprising parts of Imagine is how quickly it turns still images into motion.
A photo becomes a short video.
A sketch becomes a character.
A ridiculous idea becomes… weirdly charming.
Sometimes it works beautifully.
Sometimes it’s awkward.
Sometimes it’s hilarious.
All of that is allowed.
In fact, that’s the point.
Why This Matters (Without Making It Serious)
If you’ve ever felt intimidated by AI, this episode is a reminder that you don’t have to start with productivity or purpose.
You can start with play.
You can start with:
- A photo you already love
- A doodle from a kid or grandkid
- A completely absurd idea just to see what happens
No pressure. No stakes.
Just exploration.

If you do try Imagine or create something fun, I’d genuinely love to hear about it. Drop a comment on the video and tell me what you made—or what surprised you most.
This season isn’t about catching up.
It’s about curiosity.
And sometimes, it’s just about being able to say:
Yeah… this is fun.
